The NBA Finals is barely days away and both team's superstars are preparing to prove something, not necessarily towards each other, but to the whole basketball community. And this last series of the playoffs will be their "proving ground," as per Steve Aschburner of the league's official website.

Curry, the 2015 NBA Most Valuable Player awardee, is out to confirm that he is indeed this season's best player. Playing on the best regular season team surely attests to that point. But when it comes to the playoffs, even the best regular season teams can be eliminated as early as the first round.

However, Curry proved that he can lead the Warriors all the way to the big stage of the Finals, knocking down the Pelicans, Grizzlies, and Rockets, the best that the West has to offer.

James, on the other hand, always looked like the league's best player every season even when he does not win the MVP award. This year, he settled for third place in MVP voting behind eventual runner-up James Harden of the Houston Rockets. And truly many are wondering if there is something wrong about the system.

James demonstrated that he is still currently the best basketball player in the world. The Cleveland Cavaliers did not need a Big Three to qualify to the Finals. They only need a Big One, and that is King James.

While it is highly unlikely the both players will guard each other in this series, this matchup of James versus Curry is "more than meets the eye," as reported by Kurt Helin of NBC Sports' Pro Basketball Talk.

They are both looked up to as the "saviors of long-suffering fan bases." The deliverer of both cities' championship hopes and dreams. What kind of challenge and zeal, or pressure (as said by Bleacher Report's Grant Hughes), would the people's expectations offer James and Curry? Nobody knows. But it's for the fans to find out.

The Warriors are the favorites while the Cavs are the underdogs. When it comes to both team's best players, it is the other way around. LeBron is the big guy and Curry is the little guy. This angle surely makes this year's Finals highly interesting, something that can perhaps rival the anticipation made by Mayweather vs Pacquiao.

Okay, maybe not quite. But what is sure is that it promises a more entertaining fight for the fans.
