Birgitte Hjort Sørensen is yet to become a household name, but she might as well be, after appearing in the most recent episode of "Game of Thrones" entitled "Hardhome." However, before donning the role of Karsi, she was first introduced into the world's consciousness as the Kommissar from "Pitch Perfect 2."

Although fairly new to Hollywood, the "Pitch Perfect 2" villain has been acting in Europe and her home country for quite some time now. In fact, in an interview with Vanity Fair, she mentioned that she has previously worked with "Game of Thrones" co-star and fellow countryman Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and she asked him for pointers on what she can do on set. Although they never worked together during filming, the actor did tell her that the production people are all great and that she should prepare for long and cold days on set.
Shooting the episode was hell: casting 400 extras and 50 stuntmen is no joke, given the logistics of the production. Even Kit Harrington who portrays Jon Snow said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that Hardhome was the hardest episode he has done. He said he shot every fight scene thrice: first with a man in a green suit, second with a man that has full Whitewalker makeup, and third without anyone at all.
And it all came through in the end, with the latest episode said to be the best of the season. After a controversial sexual assault episode with one of the main characters, which was followed by mediocre episodes, "Hardhome" brought back the excitement that was seen last season in "The Watchers on the Wall" episode, or even in the battle of Blackwater, which was already one of the most pivotal points in the series.
In the episode, Sørensen played Karsi, the chieftain of the Wildlings residing in Hardhome that Jon Snow and Tormund Giantsbane approached to talk into joining the Night's Watch. Geek Tyrant reported that Sørensen was there as the human element of the Wildlings, which was heartbreaking to see go down after a group of wight children attacked. However, this may not be the last fans of the series will see the actress, as reports say that her name appears on the finale as well. It would not be long before the finale, so fans will not have to wait that long to find out.
