Did Mariah Carey join Match.com for a music video, inadvertently copying Hilary Duff's idea for "Sparks"?

Apparently not, since the RnB diva legitimately teamed up with the dating site for the debut of the new music video for "Infinity." In fact, People presented a screencap of the dating profile songstress, complete with a quote from one of her big hits in the 90's, "Dreamlover," on her description.

In the newest single from the album "#1 to Infinity," the music video shows that the diva is chilling at her high-rise penthouse and is apparently busy looking for dates on the site and what a catch the matches are. The Muse described two of the three dates that appear in the music video as complete hunks and cuties, from Tyson Beckford arriving with flowers and just a bowtie, to Jussie Smollett carrying a puppy as a present for the lady-in-waiting. True enough, the music video is far from Hilary Duff's original.

Hilary Duff first confirmed on a radio show with Ryan Seacrest that she was on the dating app Tinder and that she was roaring to go on a date. Though USA Today seemed skeptical at the authenticity of the Tinder dates, the video does give off the statement that yes, Hilary Duff is single, and she is very ready to mingle.

This theme of being single carries over to the music video of the diva, who has been recently divorced from Nick Cannon. Along with shots of her singing in concert, luxurious apartments, and the great Las Vegas skyline, the opulence of the video shows that the diva is ready to take on another man. And basing from the song alone, she just does not care.

Overall, there might be similarities to the two music videos, but considering that they are both newly single and are open to dating new guys, then there should not be a problem between the two. Fake or not, these "reality date" music videos is just an answer to the readily available dating apps openly consumed by everyone, and both artists simply found a new means to deliver their message.
