While fans were disappointed that development of latest version of "Hellraid" has been cancelled, Techland reassured them saying that they have put it on hold temporarily to focus on "Dying Light."
According to IGN, popular game maker Techland has confirmed that the "Hellraid" game series has not been cancelled. On the contrary, it has been put on hold temporarily as the makers want to focus on "Dying Light." In a statement issued to Eurogamer, CEO Pawell Marchewka said that the idea of putting the development of "Hellraid" on hold was to convey a clear message to the gamers. He said that gamers were expecting a lot of new things from the game and so there was plenty of pressure on the team.

The announcement to put the development on hold is simply an attempt to clarify that the makers want the company's resources to concentrate on the development of "Dying Light," instead of dividing their attention between two games. Another report on PC Gamer said that the company is most likely to take up the development of "Hellraid" after it completes its obligations with "Dying Light."
Meanwhile, Techland said that the core purpose of making the announcement was to be up-front with the fans. Keeping them updated with the developments will ensure that their expectations are always met.The studio authorities also did not reveal what they were planning in the next phase of development. The report also tells us that the development of "Dying Light" could be accomplished by the end of the third quarter this year; however, there is no official confirmation regarding the exact timeline.
The announcement comes as a shocker, as a lot of fans were expecting the new version of "Hellraid" to come out at E3 and Gamescom. As of now, "Dying Light" has more than 4.5 million unique users and the company has decided to focus on these customers. While this may not be a large number, Techland has still confirmed that it will be catering to their requirements.
Recently, Techland also released a co-op focused Bozak Horde exclusively for "Dying Light" and is confident of completing the development of the game soon.
