After four days of a scheduled ten organized team activities, Houston Texans head coach Bill O'Brien seemed to be still undecided on who will be his team's starting quarterback in the coming NFL season. Analysts are wondering: Is this the case of too much talent or a lack of it?

As per ESPN's Tania Ganguli, it seems to be the former. O'Brien's depth chart includes Ryan Mallett, Brian Hoyer, and Tom Savage. According to the coach, all three are doing exceptionally well during their reps in team OTAs, especially his top two choices Mallett and Hoyer, who were alternating with the starting squad.

Even third-stringer and second-year pro Savage is reportedly getting the nod of Coach O'Brien, according to Ultimate Texan's Brian Smith. This kind of depth in the position is something that the Texans and their fans had long been missing and quite excited for.

When asked by media men who his anointed will be, O'Brien simply shrugged that it was too early for him to decide which one is going to be "the one." The three signal callers are all getting enough reps to show their strengths, weaknesses, and potential overall values to the club, and it still appears to be a toss-up.

Last year, O'Brien had to select between Ryan Fitzpatrick, T.J. Yates, and Case Keenum, wherein Fitzpatrick got the starting job. The 10-year veteran did a decent job of leading the team's offense despite finishing with a 9-7 record with him at the helm. It was actually a significant improvement as the Texans went 2-14 during the season prior to that.

The team then traded Fitzpatrick to the New York Jets last March and at the same time acquired former Cleveland Browns QB Hoyer in the same month.

With the continuous growth of Mallett and the inclusion of Hoyer, which Fansided's Jordan Reeves wrote as a "Fitzpatrick upgrade," no wonder Texans fans have something to look forward to in the coming season.

Reeves also suggested in his article that Mallett is most probably going to be the starter after showing significant improvements in his game for the last three years playing behind no other than the great Tom Brady in the New England Patriots roster.

Mallett was acquired by Houston in August of last year via a trade with the Patriots. He was appointed starting QB by O'Brien in November 2014, but he only played a single game before suffering a pectoral injury to end his season. Now, he had to fight his way for the spot with Hoyer around.

As for Coach O'Brien, he is indeed having a hard time choosing between the better of two goods, so to speak.
