'Rocket League' PS4 Release Date Confirmed On July 2015; Launch Trailer Features Online Multiplayer, 'Sweet Tooth' Playable Character [VIDEO]

Dualshockers reported that the release date of "Rocket League" is set on July 17, 2015 for the PlayStation 4 and for the PC. "Rocket League" will cost around $19.99 or $20 to be exact.

The website further adds that the game's developer Psyonix posted the launch trailer of "Rocket League" that showcases its new gameplay features and a new exclusive character.


As seen in the trailer, "Rocket League" features a team of drivers playing soccer against an opposing team. IGN described "Rocket League's" mechanics as "playing like soccer with steroids" as it shows numerous plays, similar to an actual football game.

Gamers can play "Rocket League" for up to four players with multiple split-screen features offline, and compete online for up to eight players.

Player's can start a team, make their own logos and color schemes and customize their vehicles from motor engine, wheels and miscellaneous accessories to make their car more interesting to see.

The gamers can customize the look of their cars fro more than 10 billon combination so they have plenty of time on their hands just to change the appearance of their chosen vehicle.

PlayStationLifeStyle further adds that "Rocket League" has one of the most physics-driven features of any car-based games, evidence to how impressive the gameplay and designs within the game, from its cars to its large race track-like football field

"Rocket League" aslo sees some elements that are heavily focused around team gameplay. Players, whether offline or online, must work as a unit in order to win.

The game also supports PS4 and PC crossplay as they compete online in different servers, and players can edit and broadcast quality based replays so that they can relive their winning goals, impressive team work plays etc., just to show-off to everyone.

Lastly, a new character will be added in the game as Sweet Tooth from the "Twisted Metal" game series will be a PS4 exclusive character as Psyonix collaborated with Sony Computer Entertainment. Sweet Tooth can also be customized to alter his appearance as players can use him on both multiplayer and online play. 

Psyonix will also feature the game in the 2015 Electronic Entertainment Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center next week, PlayStation Blog wrote.

"Rocket League" is the sequel to Psyonix previous game "Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars,"and it will be available for download on July 7 for PS4 and PC.
