On Saturday, the sheriff said via a statement that the teens have been arrested and detained in West Virginia by the West Virginia State Police after the police chase.

The two teens were identified as Triston Kindle, 16, from Upper Sandusky and Rose May, 15, from Sycamore. Both communities are located in northern Ohio.

Kindle and Sandusky were reported missing since Monday, with family members expressing concern while fearing for their safety.

Ohio and Pennsylvania law enforcement agencies worked together searching for the teens. They were not found until Saturday morning, according to Elizabeth police.

A succession of crimes linked to the teens are now being investigated by West Virginia jointly with Pennsylvania state police. The crimes they are investigating include armed robbery, fleeing from police and vehicle theft.

Earlier this week, the couple went to Ohio using the pickup truck they possibly stole after they allegedly also stole shotgun shells from a Bucyrus Walmart, which is located around 20 miles east of Upper Sandusky, Sheriff Michael Hetzel told WTVG-TV.

The two later headed toward Pennsylvania after they were suspected of hiding in a wooded area Friday night. By 2 a.m. Saturday, police were alerted of an armed robbery in progress occurring in Elizabeth Township, Allegheny County at the P&W mini-mart, authorities said.

During the Thursday search, a police officer was injured while in pursuit of the teens, reported NBC News.

According to the Elizabeth Township Police Department, the truck's trailer hitched and got dragged before falling off. There is still no update from authorities regarding possible charges against the pair.

There remains no other available details on the case, apart from that their parents were headed to New Martinsville, West Virginia, to meet with police, according to Reuters.

There is no further information released Saturday, Wyandot County and the West Virginia State Police dispatchers told the Associated Press.
