The Tony Awards is a way to give recognition to the best and worthiest theatre talents. Alternatively, recognition is also best supplied to those who glamorously walk the red carpet before the events of the Tony's, whether they looked stunning in their garb or not.
The name of Jennifer Lopez alone is enough to stop anyone dead in their tracks, much less while she dons a blue Valentino Couture gown. Stuff calls her strapless dress a go-big-or-go-home type of dress/jumpsuit hybrid covered in a constellation of sequins, looking all comfortable despite a corset style top, pulling off an amazing look.

Dame Helen Mirren was also stunning in her Badgley Miscka ensemble that, although lace cape removed any hint of glamour from her arms, the body hugging gown compensated by accentuating an hourglass shape no living person in the world can duplicate at that age. Elizabeth Moss, dressed in a white Oscar Dela Renta dress with embellished florals is one of the crowd favorites, cradling a very-apt summer look while still sporting a minimalist vibe.
Vanessa Hudgens, another crowd favorite, wore a grand floral print halter gown designed by Naeem Khan, as reported by NJ. The actress is the current star of the musical revival "Gigi," and performed the song "The Night They Invented Champagne" for the awarding ceremony.
If the dresses of the stars tonight seem a bit tame and reserved but still carry that air of extravagance and pizzazz compared to other awards shows, that is because Yahoo! Style reports that Anna Wintour of Vogue herself lent a helping hand in dressing most of the attendees as well as acting as a consultant to other stylists. Aside from Elizabeth Moss and her Oscar de la Renta ensembles, she helped dress the likes of Ruth Wilson who looked amazing in Ralph Lauren, and both Bernadette Peters and Annaleigh Ashford, who both slipped on Zac Posen pieces.
Models and a lot more designers made their respective appearances on the red carpet, which only added beauty and elegance to the awards show. Hopefully, next year they include an overall stylist such as Anna Wintour into the fray to keep everything classy.
