The US Air Force is searching for an airman who disappeared days before he was to be court-martialed on Monday for multiple crimes including sexual abuse.
Technical Sgt. David Helm disappeared from where he was last seen at the Scott Air Force Base in Illinois on May 29. That day, he reportedly told family and friends about his plans to travel to La Follette, Tennessee to see his parents. Since then, nobody has seen or heard from him.

According to Fox News, Helm is suspected to be travelling on his black Yamaha Fz8 motorcycle with plate no. DM2809. Experts say if he intended to go to Tennessee, his quickest route from Illinois would be the I-64 East to Lexington, Kentucky and then I-75 South to La Follette. The distance totals to approximately 451 miles and may take more than six hours.
According to KDSK, Helm is an active air medical evacuation specialist. Due to his disappearance, the Air Force now calls Helm a "fugitive" after failing to attend his court martial. He was charged for sexual and simple assaults, indecent filming of a private part of another individual, and for sexually abusing a child.
On the other hand, Helm's circle of friends and family are afraid that he is in danger. They have taken initiative to find the missing sergeant by setting up a Facebook page called "Find David Helm." According to the page's description, Helm stands five feet and seven inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds. His eyes are brown with a combination of dark brown and gray hair. Those who have any information about Helm are advised to get in touch with the Air Force through their hotline 877-246-1453.
The Inquisitr reported that Helm is not the first military man involved in crimes relating to sexual assault. An army soldier in May 2014 was accused of assaulting 12 other soldiers for over three years when they were assigned in Afghanistan.
Another official, Staff Sergeant Sanchez, also threatened female soldiers of the 14th Military Police Brigade after they accused him of sexual assault.
There is very little information out about the case filed against Helm because authorities are still tracking him down. Those who are close to him are very concerned about his safety. However, there are no reports on who might want to harm him.
