The next edition of Konami's long-running stealth video game series - "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" - is out now and gives players more power to select how the protagonist will initiate their missions.

Gaming fans are excited as the latest instalment of "Metal Gear Solid V" is out and the new version of the game will have several new features which will give players more power to decide how the protagonist will embark on his mission. The new format of the game will provide an open-world adventure platform.

According to Washington Post, the updated version of the game is expected to hit markets on Sept. 1, 2015. The game will be centered around the protagonist-Snake who is voiced by Kiefer Sutherland. The new plot deals with the battered and bruised life and times of Snake. In the new version, Snake sets off to the cold and barren mountains of Afghanistan to rebuild his private army. The set-up takes the gamer back to cold war era in the region.

In another review posted on Game Spot, an avid gamer who authored the post said that he was given two days to play the new game at the Konami Studios and was surprised to see the depth of the game. Even though he played for two days, he could barely manage to see what can rightly be called as the tip of the iceberg. The report also points out that Konami has said that the new version of the game is bigger and better than its predecessors.

As for the changes of the game, the opening act itself is a surprise as Snake is seen waking up in a medical facility. It is gradually revealed that he was in a coma, following the events in the preceding version of the game. He waked up after a gap of 10 years. Additionally, the new version includes a lot of music ensuring that the players make the most of their gaming experience. Even Snake will have some company in the later part of the game as he will be seen relying on his "buddies." Also, the horseback ride is quite a good addition especially when you see the animated horse.
