Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun, who currently enjoys the status of a mega-star in China, will now be starring in a Chinese mobile game. The actor's agency Key East Entertainment has signed a deal with China based mobile gaming company Chukong Technologies to develop this mobile game.

The game's concept revolves around players taking care of Soo Hyun. In addition to the use-friendly game, there are also plans to bring out character related products in the market. Korea Times reported that CEO and co-founder of ChuKong Technologies, Haozhi Chen, expects to establish a new hallyu culture with this new mobile game, and aims to make it "more accessible to the users."
The game's content will be provided by Key East, while Chukong will be developing the game. Soompi reported that Pandakorea.com will be investing in the product and marketing it as well. The game is expected to release before the end of this year.
Bae Sung Woong, CEO of Key East, believes that this latest deal will become a "good example of taking the Hallyu boom -- advanced through drama and music -- and taking it to a high-value industry like games," according to Soompi.
Chukong is an established company in the field of mobile games. It developed the game engine called Cocos2d-x, which is used to create mobile games and applications. "Fishing Joy" is one of its popular products, with 100 million plus users a day, and Chinese users have downloaded it more than billion times, Korea Times reported.
Soo Hyun is currently starring in 12-episode Korean drama "The Producers" as a rookie PD of a variety program. The drama's Chinese broadcasting rights were reportedly sold to a Chinese online platform for more than $2.4 million, with each episode sold for more than $200,000.
"My Love From The Stars" is the show that made Soo Hyun one of the most popular Korean celebrities in China. It became a cult hit in the country, and was one of the most viewed shows on the video streaming platform iQiyi.
Last month, it was reported that when Soo Hyun attended an event in Shanghai, China, scalpers sold the tickets of the event for nearly USD 3,200.
