After receiving praise for his short but highly regarded appearance in "X-Men: Days of Future Past," Evan Peters is reprising his short-lived role as the speedster Quicksilver.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" director Brian Singer posted a snapshot on Instagram of people and furniture suspended on wires. Geek Tyrant explained that the photo does not show Pietro Maximoff on set, but it is presumably one of the sequences where the hero darts through the room unnoticed. One can hope that Singer manages to incorporate the same humor present in the last scene he was shown.

After a stunning end sequence that is considered by many to be one of the best parts of the film, this photo that also carried the hashtags #Quicksilver #Xmen #XmenApocalypse presumably confirms the return of Quciksilver to "X-Men: Apocalypse." Cinema Blend reported that Brian Smrz, the second unit director for "Days of Future Past" and the one responsible for the wacky scene where they try to liberate Magneto from his prison, revealed that they are already working on a fresher way to highlight the powers of the speedster.

Aside from Evan Peters, Coming Soon listed James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence Nicolas Hoult, Rose Byrne and Lucas Till reprising their roles as Professor X, Magneto, Mystique, Beast, Moira McTaggert and Havok, respectively, from both "X-Men: First Class" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past." There are newcomers as well, such as Olivia Munn as Psylocke, Lana Condor as Jubilee, Oscar Isaac as the titular antagonist, with Alexandra Shipp, Ben Hardy, Tye Sheridan and Sophie turner as younger versions of Storm, Angel, Cyclops and Jean Grey.

Though "Apocalypse" is said to conclude the trilogy that started with "First Class," it is highly doubtful that 20th Century Fox is letting go of the X-Men franchise anytime soon. Spinoffs are being done left and right, with the Deadpool movie soon to hit theaters. "X-Men: Apocalypse" is set to hit the big screen on May 27, 2016, and fans are definitely at the edge of their seats waiting for their favorite X-Men characters.
