NBA Trade Rumors: Jeremy Lin To Sign With Dallas?

Because of his struggles late in the regular season after having been relegated as backup to rising rookie playmaker Jordan Clarkson, all indicators tell that Jeremy Lin will not be coming back to play for the Los Angeles Lakers next season.
With recent speculations that the Lakers are planning to undergo a massive re-tooling this offseason, the Asian-American point guard appears to be the first piece that would go. As early as April, reports went out of a possible swap with Dallas Mavericks' revolting point man Rajon Rondo, but it never transpired.

There were even gossips that Kobe Bryant himself is trying to recruit Rondo as he wants "more attitude" to be alongside him at the Lakers' backcourt. Goodie-two-shoes Jeremy allegedly can't offer the Black Mamba the snarl that he's looking for.
And as July draws near, the hullabaloo of Lin going to the Mavs in exchange for Rondo is becoming louder and more imminent.
Rondo's falling out with Mark Cuban, Rick Carlisle, and friends helped in justifying the rumored trade. Sports World Report recounted how the former Celtic always clashed with his coach, suspended by his own team for a time and was benched in the playoffs.
It should be noted that a trade is not the only way to acquire Lin and Rondo, as both would become free agents this summer.
Meanwhile, SB Nation's John Gennaro suggests that Lin should be a perfect in Dallas. While he struggled for playing time during the regular season for the Lakers, he still averaged better than most point guards in the league with 15.7 ppg, 6.4 apg, and 3.7 rpg. Really, not that bad considering his limited minutes.
With the Mavs, he is expected to play more minutes and to dominate the ball more, especially if the rumored Monta Ellis departure would push through. He can then go back to his superior "Linsanity" days with the Knicks as there would not be any All-Star shooting guard to "hog" the ball in offense the way that it had been with Houston and L.A.
Another rumor circulating right now is that James Harden allegedly wants him back in Houston to help with ball handling duties. ESPN reported that during the Rockets' exit interviews after being dumped by the Golden State Warriors in the West Finals, Harden expressed his desire to have someone to share responsibilities with.
