Three-time Oscar-winner Meryl Streep was shown in one of the photos as a witch who possessed lavender hair and was the one menacing the characters in the film.

Johnny Depp can't help but wear his signature hat along with his Big Bad Wolf costume. The actor is seen hiding behind a tree, lying in wait for his known victim, Red Riding Hood who is portrayed by young actress Lilla Crawford.

'Pitch Perfect' star Anna Kendrick also poses in a rustic kitchen, sporting a shabby brown corset dress for her Cinderella role while 'Star Trek' star Chris Pine will play the role of her prince.

On the other hand, her evil step-family will be played by Lucy Punch and Tammy Blanchard as her evil stepsisters Lucinda and Florinda respectively alongside Christine Baranski who will portray their mother.

Emily Blunt, who is Meryl Streep's 'The Devil Wears Prada' co-star plays the wife of the baker, played by actor James Corden, who is searching for four ingredients in the woods to break their barren curse.

Jack and his magic beans will also make an appearance in the film. The character will be played by 'Les Miserables' actor Daniel Huttlestone, seen in the teaser photo being forced by his mother to sell his cow.

Rapunzel will also make her appearance in the person of daring actress Mackenzie Mauzie with her prince played by 'As the World Turns' actor Magnussen.

The film is based on Rob Marshall's interpretation of the Grimm brother's fairy tales, taking into account the twisted and dark nature of the plots, all packed into one big production.

'Into the Woods' is expected to hit theatres on December 25 this year.
