While spending the first month of her postpartum recovery with her in-laws at their Shatin district home, Yang Mi was allegedly treating them differently and always wanted matters to be done her way.
At the beginning of the Hong Kong actress' marriage to Hawick Lau, rumor has it that she hasn't been getting along with her parents-in-law. Sources said that the actress wanted to move out of the Shatin home.
The couple eventually moved into a new flat in Kowloon City which is approximately worth 60 million Hong Kong dollars. This relocation has given more content to the circulating gossip.
Other reports also say that Yang Mi's mother-in-law, the wife of renowned Hong Kong actor Lau Dan, was playing the role of a nanny after she has been spotted shopping for groceries and diapers and carrying two bags all by herself.
The actor's wife was said to have been spotted on the same day Yang Mi and Hawick Lau were spotted ordering a cake to celebrate their daughter's two-month arrival.
According to a media outlet, Yang Mi was unfriendly and distant to her in-laws, a rumor that veteran actor, her father-in-law, denied during a June interview.
The actor claimed that his daughter-in-law is always smiling and speaks gently, a stark contrast to what the media is making her look like. According to Lau Dan, Yang Mi even declined offers to work in order to take care of her child.
"We have a good relationship and are all friends," the actor stated.
This was supported by Yang Mi's husband Hawick who denied the rumors.
