The mysterious 'Woman in Black' seen roaming the roads in the U.S. needed police assistance after being surrounded by a crowd of curious people as she ended her journey in Winchester, Virginia on Tuesday evening.
The woman wearing black robes, who was identified as Elizabeth Poles, had been seen strolling around the streets and highways of the Southeast and Midwest United States.

She was first dubbed the 'Woman in Black' on several social networking sites after she was spotted several weeks earlier roaming in a highway in Georgia and had been wandering the streets for over three weeks.
The 56-year-old rambler told the police who took her in on Tuesday that she will conclude her journey in Winchester and that she intends to stay in the area.
Authorities said in a statement released Wednesday that Poles needed assistance during the prior evening after a group of around 100 curious people followed her as she arrived in Winchester.
"She has expressed to officers that she wants to be left alone and is asking that the public respect her wishes," Winchester authorities announced.
According to reports, Poles is originally from Alabama and had lived in Georgia prior to her mysterious journey.
For the past weeks, she was being tracked via Facebook after she was seen walking almost 1,400 kilometers from Ranger, Georgia to Virginia wearing black flowing robes with only a black bag and a stick in hand.
According to Capt. Doug Watson, her journey "has something to do with faith and religion."
Meanwhile, ABC News was able to interview her brother, Raymond Poles who told the news agency that she had served in the military for 10 years before she was treated in a hospital in North Carolina.
Her journey has been monitored by social media where she garnered over 50,000 followers on Facebook and has been a trending topic on Twitter.
