Several gaming fans were surprised by the sudden announcement from Square Enix and many were stunned and amazed that the game company managed to show off the first teaser for the "Final Fantasy 7" remake during E3 2015 presentation.
Anime News Network reported that the "Final Fantasy 7" remake will be directed by "Final Fantasy XV" and "Kingdom Hearts 3" director Tetsuya Nomura while Kazushige Nokima will be writing the story of the game.
The rumors started yesterday during the first day of E3 2015 when several news website and fan theories speculated that Square Enix will be showing an HD-version of the "Final Fantasy 7" at the said event, PlayStation Universe noted.
Siliconera further adds that Square Enix will use a modern-art style for the "FFVII" remake similar to those of "Dissidia: Final Fantasy" and "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children," and its being developed to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the "Final Fantasy 7" saga.
As for the game's release date, a previous report from KDramaStars revealed that the "Finak Fantasy 7" remake will launch on 2016; however, Attack of the Fanboy theorized that the game will be possibly out in stores until 2017.
Kotaku further adds that "Final Fantasy 7" remake will not just be for PS4 only, but it could arrive in the PC platforms as well.
In 2005, Sony showcased a "Final Fantasy 7" themed tech demo for the PlayStation 3 signaling the speculations of a soon to be remake of the game. Square Enix announced at PlayStation Experience last year that "FFVII" will be coming to the PS4 but on its original outdated format, IGN noted.
"Final Fantasy 7" was first released by Square Enix on the original PlayStation console in 1997, and it is considered one of the most popular titles in the Final Fantasy game franchise due to its innovative gameplay and impressive storyline.
The game had several prequel and sequel games such as "Before Crisis," Crisis Core" and Dirge of Cerberus. It also had two animated movie titles like "Final Fantasy: Advent Children" and "Final Fantasy VII: Last Order."
