Beijing Prosecutors Have Prosecuted Li Tianyi and 4 Other People's Case on Suspicion of Rape

It caused a widespread social concern that the mainland singer Li Shuangjiang's son Li Tianyi and 4 other people were suspected of rape.
Beijing Municipal Peoples's Procuratorate said in a news release on July 8, according to the law, Beijing Haidian District People's Court prosecuted Li and 5 other people's case on suspicion of rape to Haidian District People's Court that day.
Beijing Municipal People's Procuratorate released information on July 8 that the Beijing Haidian District People's Procuratorate accepted Li and 4 other people's case on suspicion of rape transferred for examination and prosecution from Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau Haidian Branch on May 6.
During this time, it was once returned to the public security organ for supplementary investigation to perfect the evidence in accordance with the law.
Now been identified that their behavior has violated the third paragraph of article 236 of the "PRC Criminal Law" in the (fourth) paragraph, on suspicion of rape and gang rape.
On July 8, the Beijing Haidian District People's Procuratorate prosecuted Li and 4 other people's case on suspicion of rape to Haidian District People's Court in accordance with the law.
According to media reports, in the evening of February 17, 2013, Li Tianyi and 4 other people took a drunk woman to Hubei Hotel from a bar party in Beijing Wudaokou.
On February 19, Beijing police received the woman's report that she was gang raped by Li and 4 other people in Hubei Hotel on February 17th night. On February 20th, 5 people were detained for "suspicion of rape".
In early March, the Police requested prosecutors for approval to arrest the 5 people.
Beijing Police told the media before that four of the five suspects in this case are minors. According to relevant provision of "Minors Protection Law", for minors crime, it's not allowed to disclose the name, address, photos, images and data that may infer that minor. Therefore, they couldn't disclose the suspects' information.
Currently, Beijing prosecutors have prosecuted the case according to the law.
Because of considering Li Tianyi as a minor, the case will not be tried publicly in accordance with the Criminal Litigation Law and the relevant explanations of new rules for minor cases.
