With the billowing success of Netflix shows such as "Orange Is the New Black," the Internet streaming service provider is now experiencing piracy as experienced by other bigger networks such as HBO.
HBO has always juggled the problem of piracy, more especially now with "Game of Thrones" under their roster of shows. Netflix, one of the newest players in the entertainment industry, is also facing piracy problems of their own. Fox News reported that the video streaming provider is trying to tighten the increasing number of Web sites streaming illegal copies of the show's third season.

In fact, doing a quick Google search for the latest season of "Orange Is the New Black" will spring up pirate streaming sites on the top spot rather than Netflix. Cinema Blend reported that Netflix has reported pirate sites as their number one competitor, with DVD rental companies as a close second. Their links will have to fight these sites, but the people watching the shows will have to lend their hand as well, since those who click on the links of pirate sites are to be blamed just as much. The Internet network even released the series earlier than its slated timeframe, just to make their name come out on top of searches.
Internet streaming of shows is not a new concept, but the fact that Netflix is creating their own original content is different news. Bell Jar News reported that as studio executives of Netflix start to be bothered by these pirate sites, changes need to happen soon. "Orange Is the New Black" reportedly raked in 500,000 downloads in just seven days after it came out, but with the promulgation of pirate Web sites, this can be automatically assumed bigger.
Piracy has always been a problem ever since the dawn of recordable media. People will always find ways to get things for free, and downloadable movie and TV content may be the hardest to explain. It will be up to the people whether they choose to patronize the shows to keep it running or to download illegally to save a few dollars.
