And when NBC News Anchor Brian Williams is your father, he'll know that the best way to announce your new role is to pull out your baby photo.

Allison Williams just got the title role for NBC's live production of "Peter Pan", with Christopher Walken co-starring as Captain Hook.

Of course, Allison's father, Brian Williams, couldn't be prouder.

Brian Williams announced the news on his show "NBC Nightly News" and cited some of his daughter's acting credits, which included her role as Hannah's best friend, Marnie, in "Girls" and a dress-up photo of a three year-old Allison wearing a Peter Pan costume.

Congratulating his daughter, Williams stated, "Family members confirm she's been rehearsing for this role since the age of three, and they look forward to seeing her fly."

So Allison wasn't exaggerating when she said that "I have wanted to play Peter Pan since I was about three years old, so this is a dream come true."

Williams, along with other NBC executives, couldn't be happier that Allison will be taking on the role of Peter Pan.

Robert Greenblatt, chairman at NBC Entertainment, shared, "We think she will bring the perfect blend of 'boyish' vulnerability and bravado to save the day against Christopher Walken's powerful Captain Hook."

Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, executive producers of "Peter Pan Live", believe that Allison Williams will reinvent the role of Peter Pan because of her acting prowess, as well as her beautiful singing voice.

The said production follows the success of "The Sound of Music Live", NBC's first musical adaptation which aired December of last year. Although the production was viewed by 18.6 million people, singer Carrie Underwood was slammed by critics for her portrayal of Maria von Trapp.

"Peter Pan" is scheduled to air December 4 of this year.
