Apparently, "Chasing the Sun" and "Sparks" were just appetizers for something bigger. Hilary Duff is now reentering the pop scene with her latest album, "Breathe In. Breathe Out."
After an eight-year hiatus, the former "Lizzie McGuire" star is back to creating music with an upbeat dance album, "Breathe In. Breathe Out," as reported by Channel News Asia. The album carries music that relates to self-discovery, romance, and failed love, things Duff is quite familiar with--the singer was once married to hockey player Mike Comrie with whom she has a son.

Like all previous Disney talents, Hilary Duff had a hard time detaching from her already-established background. The Verge explained how her 2007 album "Dignity" tanked because of the said image and how it unconsciously competed against the current House of Mouse giants at that time such as Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez.
However, this does not automatically mean she is less thankful of her Disney roots. She did get her breakthrough from "Lizzie McGruire," which snowballed to the eventual success stories of "So Yesterday" and "Come Clean."
With "Breathe In. Breathe Out," the former Disney queen is obviously strutting her stuff, and despite the almost decade-long absence, she still has it, even outing a new music for the song "Tattoo." Collaborating with Ed Sheeran, how the song pertains to an ex-lover who she still feels under her skin. Entertainment Weekly discussed how the music video for "Tattoo" is the exact opposite of her other new single "Sparks," which featured her going on different Tinder dates.
She may be eight years too late, but Hilary duff is definitely ready to take on the current music industry with her new album. Already releasing three songs before the album, she obviously knows what she is doing, and with her Disney image already out of the picture, her career has nowhere to go but up.
