"[It] has been a very difficult thing to go through," the pop star said on the Podcast held for the release of her new album 'Chasing the Sun,' the first one after a seven-year hiatus from the music industry.
However, Hilary Duff also shared that she is in good terms with Mike Comrie, mentioning that she and the Canadian hockey star still have much love for each other.
The former couple is still being spotted together, looking like the best of friends and they still are despite the separation. Hilary shared that she and Mike are working things out the way they should for their two-year old child Luca.
However, as opposed to media speculation that the couple are only seeing each other for the sake of the child, Hilary Duff said, "..when you see us out it's not just for Luca, it's because we make plans and we hang out and we don't know what our future looks like right now but we're both doing really good and just figuring out what makes us happy."
On the other hand, the pop singer has arranged a very good team for the production of her new album. Her writers included singer Colbie Caillat, and she has a song in the album done in collaboration with 'I See Fire' singer Ed Sheeran.
The 26-year old singer admitted that the album was a reflection of her life experiences and that she just couldn't help but to include a break-up song that was based on her relationship with Mike Comrie.
'Chasing the Sun' is scheduled to be released on August 1.
