As per the latest Twitter updates, the marketing team has decided that Project Lightning will be focused on helping those who are not members of the micro blogging portal to understand its benefits and motivate them to use it.
According to MSH, Twitter has confirmed that it is keen to explain to users the benefits of its services and the various facilities provided on its microblogging portal. The company is still in search of a new CEO but plans of a new marketing strategy are already underway. Sources on condition of anonymity, who are well-aware of the company's plans confirmed this development. This could also be one of the first major marketing plans that the company will adapt to promote its own offerings.

As of now, the experts at Twitter are working on a new initiative called Project Lightning. This feature will enable the micro blogging website to develop content based on live events. It is expected that this feature will take Twitter closer to the non-members as well.
As part of this feature, Twitter will have a separate channel for live events where it will be able to curate photos and do a lot of other stuff to make it more interactive. The best part is that even those who don't have an account on the website will get updates about these events. It will use a mix of human editing capacity and machine algorithms.
The very fact that it will give update about live events is expected to attract the non-member crowd to Twitter. This feature will also empower Twitter to sell ads beyond its usual promotion options giving the company more resources to earn better revenues.
Facilities that audiences will be able to enjoy as a result of this feature will include live TV shows being streamed into the Twitter portal. Another report on Brisbane Times says that this move is a major effort to break the misconception that Twitter is a gathering place for celebrities and socialites.
Meanwhile, even as the company continues its search for a new CEO, Jack Dorsey, a former CEO and co-founder, will take charge of the situation from July 1, though only on an interim basis.
