In the latest New York prison break update, police have found possible sightings of the men befitting the descriptions of the two convicts who escaped from the Clinton Correctional Facility.

In a news release by the New York State Police Friday, authorities said the two men were found strolling near an Erwin rail yard on June 13. The second sighting happened the following day in Lindley, New York. The two men were seen heading for the border of Pennsylvania.

According to investigators, they have already conducted interviews in both communities. They added that surveillance video they had were deemed inconclusive.

The "inconclusive" surveillance footage has been sent to Albany for further analysis, according to CNN.

It remains unclear as to why authorities waited a week before revealing the two sightings, according to the Associated Press.

"Witnesses spotted two men on June 13 walking near the Gang Mills rail yard on Rita's Way in the town of Erwin," according to police. "The next day, two men with the same description were spotted walking along County Route 115 in the town of Lindley, heading toward the Pennsylvania Border."

The New York prison break prisoner sightings, unconfirmed, came from two different individuals, according to police spokesman Beau Duffy.

Meanwhile, this latest New York prison break update is considered another lead in the longest prison break search in New York, which has involved as many as 800 law enforcement officers.

Officials said that by the 15th day of the search for Richard Matt, 48, and David Sweat, 35, nearly 200 abandoned buildings, more than 600 miles of rural trails, and hundreds of occupied homes were scoured.

Police told the residents along the New York-Pennsylvania border to stay alert for Matt and Sweat.

Both murderers have been added in the list of the 15 most wanted fugitives by the U.S. Marshals Service. They are offering a $50,000 reward for any information that would lead to the capture of the two men.

The list "is reserved for the worst of the worst," according to U.S. Marshals Service Director Stacia Hylton. "There is no question David Sweat and Richard Matt fall into this category."

Late Friday, corrections officer Joyce Mitchell has been placed on administrative leave following as she aided in the escape of the convicts, according to the state corrections department. Mitchell pleaded not guilty, reported ABC News.
