As Matt Damon reprises his role as Jason Bourne, Julia Stiles is reportedly back as Nicky Parsons in the fifth installment of the "Bourne" franchise.

Reprising her role as a CIA-operative-turned-Bourne-ally Nicky Parsons, Julia Stiles is coming back to the big screen to join Jason Bourne, played by Matt Damon. The Los Angeles Times reported that the two are not the only ones returning to the franchise. Paul Greengrass, the director for both "Bourne Supremacy" and "Bourne Ultimatum," is returning to direct the script he is cowriting with Christopher Rouse. Damon, Stiles and Greengrass all opted out of "Bourne Legacy," the predecessor of this installment, which featured Aaron Cross, an alternate black-ops agent, portrayed by Jeremy Renner.

A newcomer has also been announced, with Film School Rejects reporting that Viggo Mortensen has been offered the role of the villain for this "Bourne" installment. Although this may not be as tangible and legitimate as the news of Stiles's return, it cannot be escaped how the "Lord of the Rings" star has been talked in the past as villains, most recently in the Superman movie "Man of Steel" and Quentin Tarantino's "Hateful Eight," which neither happened.

Slated to be released on July 29, 2016, filming should begin in about a month's time, which is quite enough of a period to find the right villain for Matt Damon's Jason Bourne. Alicia Vikander is also rumored to have a part, though it still is not clear if she is a goodie or a baddie. Entertainment Weekly reported that Frank Marshall and Damon are back as producers alongside Greg Goodman and Jeffrey Weiner, which means that the project is more than roaring to go into production anytime soon. No other details about the fifth installment have been revealed as of now, but do expect a lot of news about the shooting locations and updates on the cast as the year slowly rolls in.
