Romance remained alive for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt as they exchanged handwritten love letters while filming separate movies, Jolie told Australia's TV Week magazine.
For one of Hollywood's most powerful couples, Jolie and Pitt preferred to spice up their love affair despite being in a long-distance relationship.

Jolie had been directing the biopic "Unbroken" in Australia while Pitt was filming "Fury" in London, both of which are historical dramas.
According to Jolie, it was their decision to act as if she was in the Pacific theater while her partner was in the European theater.
"We wrote handwritten letters to each other that were very connecting for us, thinking of the people that were separated for months if not years at a time back then", she said.
The Academy Award-winning actress further added, "He was supporting from a distance. It was quite romantic in a way."
In 2013, Jolie brought her six children to Australia as she filmed the on-screen adaptation of best-selling novel "Unbroken" by Lauren Hillenbrand. This has been the "Maleficent" star's second directorial stint since "In The Land of Blood and Honey".
The biopic is centered on the true story of Louis Zamperini, an Olympian and a prisoner of war during World War II who died in July at the age of 97.
According to Jolie, she had a close relationship with Zamperini and was able to show him footages from the movie before he passed away.
"I brought him the film on my laptop in the hospital," she said. "It was amazing seeing someone at the end of their life watching their life unfold again, at the same time their body was shutting down."
Last May, the actress contributed an op-ed piece for the New York Times where she admitted having a preventative double mastectomy and expressed her wanting to be there for her children. Jolie had watched her mother struggle with cancer, which she does not want to go through for the sake of her kids.
"Unbroken" will premiere on Christmas Day, also the last day of the year for a movie to be taken into consideration for an Academy Award.
