According to The Next Web, Gmail is finally introducing the undo send feature that will allow users to stop a message from leaving their inbox for a brief time period after they press the send button.

For those who often struggle with typo errors that they have just noticed after sending the mail, this feature may be a life saver; however, the validity of this option will remain only for thirty seconds after the user presses the send button, which is as good as a moment to alter the individual's decision.

The introduction of this feature is a much delayed initiative by Google. as the undo send feature was kept in beta mode and tested across various email accounts for six years. This is the longest time period for which any Google feature has been tested.

Another report on Android Central says that users will be able to enable this feature by simply logging into their account and altering the original settings. Even the time for which the option will remain valid can be selected at this stage. The undo send option is available under the General tab in the regular Gmail settings.

This feature originally debuted in the Google Labs segment where the company is known to test all its new developments. But this happened way back in March 2009 and ever since the feature took a backstage hitting headlines now in 2015.

For those who are already registered for undo send feature in Gmail labs, the shift to the permanent version will be automatic. The minimum time for which the option can be set is ten seconds.

The official update from the Google Apps team also confirmed the development saying that the new feature will be available to account users, starting today itself. The feature is available only when Gmail is being used through the web browser.
