Pound-for-pound champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. seems to be still undecided on who he will face for his supposed-to-be final fight on September. It also appears to be that he is trying to go into retirement on a whimper as he mentioned unheralded boxers Karim Mayfield or Andre Berto as his possible opponents, as reported by the New York Post.

Mayweather is in danger of earning what perhaps would be the lowest paycheck of his modern career if decides to dance with rabbles than with top contenders. Berto lost three of his last six fights while Mayfield had lost two of his recent three. If these are the quality of boxers that Money is going to give the fans this fall, then he might get a flop production for the first time in a long while.
What boxing fans around the world want is for him to face these names: Oscar De La Hoya, Miguel Cotto, Juan Manuel Marquez, Amir Khan, Shawn Porter, Keith Thurman, or Gennady Golovkin, all of which has a good chance of beating him or at least bruising his face. But it is apparent that the unbeaten American would not want to go out on a loss after he had well-preserved his undefeated trademark.
It had long been speculated that he would finally fight British sensation Khan on September. King Khan was known to have declined huge offers just to make himself available for the pay-per-view king. But in a recent interview at Boxing News 24, Mayweather flatly answered "no" when asked whether the match with Khan would be his final.
Meanwhile, Daily Mail Online reported that undefeated British boxer Kell Brook challenged Mayweather to fight him or Thurman before the American calls it quits. The IBF welterweight champion cited that their unblemished records make him and Thurman a worthy opponent of Floyd than anyone else.
Thurman himself said that Brook is more deserving to fight Mayweather than Khan, adding that Khan needs to go toe-to-toe with true welterweights first before he can be considered to fight Mayweather.
"I think if he wants to make a statement in the welterweight division he should either fight me or fight Shawn Porter," Thurman said. "That way he can measure his skills and prove that he can fight a big strong welterweight."
