Various Hollywood celebrities paid their respects to the great composer, stating how they have previously worked with the composer or how his musical musings moved them. The Indian Express quoted Celine Dion, singer of the Horner-composed hit "My Heart Will Go On," saying how shaken she was ith his death, acknowledging that his work changed her career.
Ron Howard also went to Twitter to express his heartache for Horner's loved ones. Howard have previously collaborated with Horner on seven past different projects, including "Braveheart."
James Horner, who started as a pianist as early as five years old, started his commercial career when asked by Roger Corman to score 80's flicks "Battle Beyond the Stars" and "Humanoids from the Deep." Aside from "Titanic" and "Braveheart," he has also worked with Oliver Stone, George Lucas, and Steven Spielberg.
James Cameron, one of his greatest collaborators, called Horner's passing as the loss of a creative light, stating that not only did they lose a teammate and colleague but also a friend. The director also mentioned that the beauty of "Avatar" was not just in its visuals but in the music that caressed the audience while they watched, Kansas City Star reported.
James Horner may have had a single method of making his music, but that method has touched millions of people. Rest in peace, James Horner.
