Former child actor who played Anakin Skywalker in "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace" was arrested following a car chase that spanned two counties. Jake Lloyd, who identified himself as "Jake Broadbent" to the police, went on with the pursuit for a good 20 minutes from Charleston County until his car crashed into the woods in Colleton County, South Carolina. Photo of Lloyd's mug shot shows the 26-year-old sustaining a small cut on his upper cheek.

A spokesperson told E! News that Colleton County police received a call from Charleston County at around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday that a speeding car crossed double yellow lines and crossed county border. Lloyd was reportedly shooting past 100 miles per hour and "driving erratically."
Findings, however, showed that Lloyd was neither intoxicated with drugs nor alcohol. The police did not perform field sobriety test on Lloyd. The spokesperson further stated that Lloyd resisted arrest and refused to yield information.
"He was quiet and didn't say a lot. He was alone," the spokesperson told E! News.
The police said Lloyd ignored their blue lights, rammed into a fence, and drove through trees off Interstate 95, USA Today cited. He is currently facing charges for reckless driving, driving without a license, failing to stop for blue light, and resisting arrest. Lloyd will remain in detention until Sunday at the Colleton County Detention Center. The bail amounts to more than $10,000.
USA Today further reported that the birth date and birthplace of the arrested man matched the actor's as filed in a movie database.
In an exclusive follow-up report by TMZ, Lloyd was allegedly suffering from schizophrenia and attacked his mother weeks before the police encounter. He was said to have gone off his medications and went to his mother's house, where he "knocked her down and stomped on her three to four times." Despite the incident, Lloyd's mother refused to file charges against him and insisted that her son is not a violent person.
Lloyd's character Anakin started as an exceptional pilot when he was younger and grew up to become one of the strongest Jedi Knights who ever lived. However, he was drawn into the dark side of the Force amid personal sense of loss and fear of losing his wife, Padme Amidala, to death.
