Russian jets were flying over its former Soviet Union states as international monitors started their investigation on the downed Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 in eastern Ukraine.
Lithuania's Defense Ministry said a Russian aircraft was recorded "flying without a pre-agreed schedule" in waters near Estonia on Friday by NATO jets stationed in Lithuanian air base, Bloomberg reported, quoting its spokeswoman Viktorija Cieminyte.

In Ukraine, Russian combat aircraft and helicopters have crossed Kiev's border several times since Friday, Andriy Lysenko of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) said.
These aircrafts, including four Ka-52 attack helicopters, were flying up to 15 kilometers deep from Ukraine's border with speed of 800 km per hour, Interfax detailed.
Russian aircrafts prowl over the said areas as investigators started a formal investigation on the downed Malaysian plane in rebel-held areas of Donetsk that killed all of its 298 passengers.
Over 101 international experts arrived in the area this week to recover the bodies of the other victims and their belongings amid the armed conflict between Ukraine government and pro-Russian separatists in the eastern region that halted the probe development last week.
Pieter-Jaap Aalbersberg, head of the recovery mission, said a number of remaining bodies were recovered from a farm in Grabovo village. The bodies, after reaching Kharvic, will be transported to Amsterdam for identification, he added.
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with U.S. President Barack Obama to discuss the possible actions to help the investigators in Ukraine.
The two leaders have agreed to stop the hostilities in the region and cooperate with the investigators seeking who shot down the Malaysian plane. The U.S. earlier blamed pro-Russian rebels for the incident.
The conversation came after the U.S. and European Union imposed wide economic sanctions against Moscow over its support for the pro-Russian rebels.
The probe is expected to be finished within two weeks if the investigation will go smooth. Ukrainian officials have earlier warned that separatists planted land mines near the crash site.
