Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will have its big day on September 3.

The new smartphone flagship, tipped to be the first 4K smartphone with retina scanner and UV sensor, will be launched at a Pre-IFA 2014 event in Berlin.

Samsung is currently rushing the release of Galaxy Note 4 in the market to challenge the next-generation iPhone 6 of its rival company Apple, according to a report from Korea.

iPhone 6 is rumored to debut on September 12 in two variants with 4.7 - and 5.5-inch screens.

Korean Times reported that Samsung will hold an event to introduce the Note 4 on Sept. 3, just days before this year's biggest technology exhibition in Europe.

Members of media and analysts will start receiving invitations for the event "soon," which is probably within this month.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics Chief Financial Officer Kwon Young-oh said that Note 4 will have "far better specifications" than the Galaxy S5 smartphone.

The new Android smartphone will have two models - one with a curved Organic-LED (OLED) screen for niche markets and a 5.7-inch flat OLED screen with metal frame for mass marketing.

The Korean publication also reported that Note 4 will be the first smartphone to have UV sensors that can measure UV radiation and offer index levels to the users.

As part of the S Health System, the feature will warn users if they are getting too much sun exposure.

By September, a new Android L 4.5/5 operating system, codenamed "Lolipop," will be out.

It is predicted that Note 4 will come with the latest system.

The new phablet will have Qualcomm processor chips and will support 4G long-term evolution (LTE) mobile wireless technologies.

Twitter user Evleaks posted that Galaxy Note 4 will also have the same color options as Galaxy S5.

For the meantime, there is no leaked information regarding the Galaxy Note 4's price yet but an online technology PC Advisor rumored that it will likely come in between £550 and £600, close to the price of Galaxy S5.
