China's State Council Information Office on Friday issued a list of human rights violations committed by the United States government. The annual report is intended to counter US allegations of human rights abuses in China.
The Guardian reported that China has made allegations of its own with regards to the United States' human rights records. The report from the Chinese government pointed out that racial discrimination is happening in the U.S., as well as the prevalence of violent crimes in which guns are commonly used.

The report from Beijing also charged the U.S. government of callously violating the human rights of other countries.
Reuters reported that most of the sources of the Chinese human rights violation list have been gathered from United States media outlets. The report cited a number of cases involving the killing of African-Americans by local law enforcers last year. The police officers involved in such shooting are mostly white. Such killings have resulted in demonstrations against what many Americans see as racial discrimination. The report also claimed that "equality" among the races in the U.S. is actually not true and that racial tensions exists.
In the international scene, the report says that U.S. operatives reportedly violated the human rights of terrorist suspects by subjecting them to torture. The report also claimed that the use of drones to kill its perceived enemies abroad and the use of mass spying methods also violates the human rights of citizens of foreign countries, according to Aljazeera.
The United States government released its own report on Chinese human rights violation last Thursday, June 25. The U.S. report accused the Chinese government of regularly harassing and launching crackdowns against minorities such as the Tibetans and Uighurs as well as political activists.
Both countries have been odds with regards to issues such as human rights since the Chinese troops' bloody removal of the pro-democracy rallyists from Tiananmen Square in 1989.
The Chinese government routinely dismisses allegations of human rights violation in the country. Chinese leaders have countered that providing people with basic necessities and improving their economic conditions is more important for countries which are still in their developmental stage, such as China.
