Social media giant Facebook was inaccessible for some users worldwide on Friday for the second time since June.
Facebook servers were down just after 11 a.m., but the failure was inconsistent as some users were able to enter the site with no difficulties until 12:15 p.m., according to Down Detector.

Numerous users of the network were faced with an error webpage, stating that "the requested URL could not be retrieved." The service was completely restored by 35 minutes later.
The outage not only affected Facebook but also sites that use Facebook IDs as login tokens.it left subscribers powerless to enter other sites and services such as Imgur, a photo-sharing entertainment site, and voice and messaging client, Skype.
Some users even panicked to the extent they dialed 911 to complain to the police.
At the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, police officials weren't happy when they received calls from citizens complaining Facebook was down.
"#Facebook is not a Law Enforcement issue, please don't call us about it being down, we don't know when FB will be back up!" Sgt. Burton Brink, of the Crescenta Valley station, wrote on Twitter.
In a later tweet, he said an unknown number of people called 911 about the outage.
In the midst of the outage, Facebook has been continuing on its effort to bring the Internet to those who don't have access to it.
It will release an app called Internet.org to the people of the African nation of Zambia. Subscribers of the mobile service provider Airtel will be given free access to a set of web pages on the Internet, including Facebook, Facts for Life, Wikipedia and Mobile Alliance for Maternal Action.
The project was launched last August by Facebook in partnership with six mobile phone companies such as Samsung, Nokia and Ericsson.
