The flag of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) has been banned from public demonstrations in the Netherlands.
This is in preparation for a planned pro-Palestine and pro-Gaza march on Sunday in Amsterdam where around 5,000 people are expected to attend. The march is seen as a protest against Israel for their continuing bombardment of Gaza.

According to an Amsterdam police spokesperson, demonstrators would not be allowed to carry or display the ISIS flag. Additionally, The Hitler salute, Nazi symbols, burning of other flags and display of anti-semitism would not be allowed as well.
Jihadists flags and clothes that cover demonstrators faces, similar to those worn by ISIS militants, would also be prohibited under certain circumstances.
The move by the Dutch government to be stricter on public demonstrations comes after police were criticized for their lack of action in a similar demonstration in the The Hague.
In a demonstration held at The Hague earlier this week, demonstrators were heard chanting "death to Jews". As a response, Dutch officials will now monitor speeches and chants during demonstrations. Interpreters would also be deployed on the ground.
Anti-semitic violence has been in a rise in the country since the fighting in Gaza began.
Times of Israel reported that a Jewish woman living in eastern Amsterdam was assaulted on Tuesday after she displayed an Israeli flag from her balcony. According to the victim, she was attacked by 3 men wearing Palestinian scarves.
Another incident was reported on Wednesday by the Dutch newspaper Het Parool, where a firebomb was thrown on the balcony of another woman who displayed an Israeli flag.
The police are also searching for a man after he uploaded a video on Facebook wherein he said that Zionist zombies should be shot dead and proceeds to shoot in the air with a gun.
