In an industry where many names, group or individual, constantly crop up and vie for the attention of legions of fans, lasting for 15 years is a real and rare feat. Becoming an A-list name in and out of one's own country and sustaining that superstar status are marks of dedication worth celebrating.

Kwon Boa, who later on became better known as BoA (Beat of Angels), has all these under her belt, and what better way to commemorate the achievement than hold an anniversary concert at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts. According to an article by Asia One, the center has the prestigious reputation of being a tough venue to break into for pop music artists.
At the young age of 11, BoA's gift for singing has been recognized, and she went on to debut her music career at around 14 years old. In 2000, she launched her first Korean album "ID: Peace B." Two years later, she became the first K-Pop artist to break into the Japanese music scene with her album "Listen to My Heart" under the label Avex Trax.
Today, BoA is one of the few K-Pop artists who have a strong staying power. She recently released her 8th studio album in the Korean language entitled "Kiss My Lips." The self-produced collection, which contains 12 songs, reportedly took BoA an entire year to write and prepare.
In an exclusive interview with K-Popped, BoA shared that staying in the industry for 15 years appears to be a long time, but she believes that she still has so much time to explore new experiences. She further added that in the coming years, she aims to show fans "a new side of herself."
"There are a lot of people who have great expectation in me, so my motivation is very much driven on that," BoA told K-Popped.
BoA's agency SM Entertainment made the announcement on Wednesday. The upcoming concerts are scheduled on August 22 and 23, which Korea Herald also reported as her first solo concerts after her "Here I Am" performance at the Olympic Park in 2013. She is expected to serenade the audience with many of her major hits.
