Paul George is on the road to recovery after going under the knife on Saturday morning to repair his right leg that had been injured during a scrimmage for Team USA in Las Vegas.
George broke his tibia and fractured his fibula while on a scrimmage at UNLV's Thomas and Mack Center which halted the game and the week-long training session as the team geared up for the upcoming FIBA World Championships in Spain.

In a statement, USA Basketball officials said George would remain hospitalized in the next three days while he remained under observation.
George was brought to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, and doctors immediately put him on surgery to repair his leg. USA Basketball physicians Dr. David Silverberg, Dr. Joseph Yu and Riley Williams oversaw the procedure.
The all-star power forward took to Twitter his gratitude for the concern and assured fans he'd bounce back from the gruesome injury.
"Thanks everybody for the love and support," George wrote in his post. "I'll be ok and be back better than ever!!! Love y'all!!"
Indiana Pacers team president Larry Bird echoed George's optimism, saying he was waiting for the advice of doctors to bring his ward back to Indianapolis to continue his recovery.
"It is way too early to speculate on his return as the No. 1 priority for everyone will be his recovery," he said in a statement. Our initial discussions with our doctors and the doctors in Las Vegas have us very optimistic."
He dismissed suggestions on the impact of George's injury to the Pacers, pointing out that throughout its franchise history, the team managed to do well despite adversities.
"There is no question about the impact on our team but our goal is to be as strong-willed and determined as Paul will be in coming back," he continued. "Our franchise has had setbacks in its history but has demonstrated the abilities to recover. Paul will provide the example of that off the court and it is up to the rest of us to provide that example on the court."
"Any discussion regarding the future of our team would be inappropriate at this time. Our focus is solely on Paul and doing whatever we can to help," he added.
