It was said in the Thomas Duffy's article that the Lakers is one of a few teams the 6-foot-11 high-leaping dunker is considering to join this summer. The other teams in his radar are the Dallas Mavericks and the Milwaukee Bucks, but staying with the Clips is still a possibility.

The four teams are set to visit the former Texas A&M standout at his home in Houston this week.

The Los Angeles Times had recently reported that the rumors of a rift between Jordan and superstar teammate Chris Paul are indeed legit and could be the reason why the former is entertaining offers from suitors.

Coach Doc Rivers and some Clippers players have denied the report, but league executives who were not permitted to speak about the subject have confirmed the alleged falling-out between the two teammates.

Jordan was also looking for a maximum salary to play for the Clips next season. But management was allegedly thinking twice about granting his request as two other stars in the lineup, Paul and high-flying power forward Blake Griffin, are already in max deals. It was one other assumption why he was searching for other teams that can provide his asking price.

Aside from the supposed beef with Paul and unfruitful contract negotiations, Jordan reportedly had asked for him to be more involved in the team's offense as he desires to be an All-Star next season.

If he stays with the Clips, he is more likely to remain as the third option in scoring behind his two more illustrious teammates Paul and Griffin. And with the impending arrival of former champion Celtic Paul Pierce, he could even be the fourth.

The Clippers is the only team that could offer Jordan the most money at $108 million for five years while the other contenders can only give $80 million for four years, as per league rules. But he also has the option to sign just a two-year deal with an option for the last year in preparation for the anticipated huge salary cap increase in the summer of 2016, as reported by SB Nation.

If Jordan chooses the Lakers, then he will join a cast of young potentials and a veteran champion in Kobe Bryant. In that case, he may very well be the second scoring option behind Bryant.
