Anwan Glover, from the T.V. series 'The Wire', was reported to have been stabbed while at a nightclub in Washington D.C.

Police say that the actor was treated at George Washington University Hospital due to a laceration. It was reported that he has been stabbed and kicked at the nightclub.

According to the actor's report, Glover told the investigators that he was at a certain Café Asia on Sunday when two people approached him.

He was not able to identify the said people. He narrated that one person punched him while the other hit him on the head. He added that he was kicked repetitively and that he heard someone shout that one of the men had a knife.

He then felt a sharp pain somewhere on his side. This happened on Sunday, early morning.

Reports say that Glover was stitched in his torso area but he was released on Sunday as well and the police are still investigating on the said incident.

Glover posted a message on his Instagram account, Sunday evening. Glover said that he was supporting another band in the said nightclub.

Glover is part of a go-go band called the 'Backyard Band'. He adds that he had an altercation with unknown people and that he defended himself, however, he ended up getting stabbed.

He noted that he is recovering and will be back soon. He was very optimistic in his statement saying that his flesh may be stabbed but his spirit is unbreakable.

He ended the message by saying thanks to his fans, followers and friends who have been wishing him well and have prayed for him. He also added that he lost his phone and will be getting a new one ASAP.

Glover is known to be playing a role in the T.V. series "The Wire" as a gang member. The 41-year-old actor was also part of the Oscar award-winning movie "12 Years a Slave".  He also starred in an HBO show entitled "Treme".

The actor was also reported to have been shot a couple of times already but has actively participated in anti-violence campaigns.
