Jon Voight, the father of Angelina Jolie, has slammed actor Javier Bardem and actress Penelope Cruz regarding a signed letter by the couple concerning the Israel-Gaza War.
Voight wrote in his column in the Hollywood Reporter last Sunday that the couple is 'obviously ignorant' and says that the letter they signed might provoke anti-Semitism not only in Israel but all over the world.

He said that the couple should hang their heads in shame and that they should ask for forgiveness in behalf of those suffering in Israel.
Voight wrote that he is heartsick about the 'poison letter' signed by the couple. He explained that Israel tried to make peace for how many years already which has caused thousands of civilians killed by suicide bombers, killed in their sleep, and even stabbed to pieces.
He added that Israel is the only democratic country in that region and that the reason for their retaliation is that they have had enough. And now they get such letter held against them.
He said that the couple had a great responsibility to use their status as celebrities for good. Instead, they used it to defame the only democratic country of goodwill in the Middle East.
Voight also used his column to backtrack the history of the war between Israel and Gaza. He noted that Israel was defending itself against terrorist campaigns. He called on the couple to examine their motives and asked if they can take back their statements.
The couple signed a letter which attacked Israel's treatment over Gaza. The couple went public with regards to their opinion in the ongoing conflict in the said countries.
They called on Europe to condemn the bombings and attacks of Israel towards Gaza. In the letter, it has been stated that the homes of Palestinians are destroyed and are being denied the basic necessities such as water and electricity.
They added that the international community is not doing anything about this. It has been reported that over 1,200 civilians have been killed in Gaza.
Bardem issued a statement saying that he and his wife are being labeled as anti-Semitic and that it is contrast to who they are as human beings.
He said that they detest anti-Semitism as much as they detest horrible and painful consequences of war. His wife, Cruz, said that she is not an expert on the situation and that the only intention of them signing the group letter is to hope for peace in both Israel and Gaza.
Aside from the published article, Voight also attended a pro-Israel rally somewhere in L.A. He said that every patriotic American, Jew and non-Jew, must not tolerate the propaganda saying that Israel is the aggressor of the said war.
Aside from Cruz and Bardem, One Direction star Zayn Malik, singers Rihanna and Selena Gomez expressed their opinions and they showed that they are supporting Palestinians. Actress Joan Rivers slammed those who have been tweeting about something they do not know anything about.
It was reported today that Israel attacked a school in Gaza resulting to 10 people killed. These people were in queue waiting for food on the 27th day of the war.
