According to Tech News Today, renowned camera lens maker, Olympus has introduced a new type of device that can be controlled from the smartphone, allowing users to click better pictures. The new device does not have an SD card or an LCD screen or even a dial like the regular bulky cameras, instead it is lightweight and easy to handle. Users will be able to conveniently control the camera from their smartphones itself.
The new device comes with a 16 megapixel lens powered by advanced technology for better clicks. DXO and Sony have also launched similar devices that will be competing with this camera. Like other mirrorless cameras, this one can also be used to replace lenses. The current configuration of the camera is compatible with any of the recent lenses being shipped by the company.
However, analysts are saying that the new camera is lacking basic features like a real camera, image cleaning, image stabilization and a series of other factors that make it very different from the regular options. But the lens is really powerful and promises to provide a better clicking experience to the average smartphone user.It is being debated the micro SD card on the phone may not be fast enough to accomodate the speed of the camera. As of now, this will not make a difference as the camera will rely on the SD card simply to store its pictures.
The product is currently available on Olympus website and is being shipped at 300 dollars only approximately.
As per Tech Times, the device was already being sold in Japan and is extremely popular there. The makers have confirmed to launch it in America this month. This camera will connect to Android as well as iOS devices working on cellular data or Wi-Fi.
