He confirmed that Facebook, at this stage, is involved with various AI projects that are aimed to improve and simplify the social networking services being offered by them.
The Facebook AI labs are working on understanding the technology and its various facets. In line with this objective, Facebook also recently acquired Wit.ai, a voice-recognition AI startup. Another report on Engadget confirmed that Facebook is also working on satellites, drones, etc. in order to expand the potential of its Internet.org project. In the interaction, he talked about a future where internet access would be beamed down via a plane flying overhead or a satellite, which in turn will communicate with the main station on the Earth's surface a via a series of laser beams.
He also cleared the air on the controversy surrounding Facebook asking for real names while registering profiles, saying that the practice would continue.
