It was a typical day for Serena Williams who went to the Wimbledon post-match press conference with a win under her belt. The American beat Timea Babos in straight sets with a score of 6-4, 6-1, putting herself in the third round to face British favorite Heather Watson.

As the world no. 1 answered questions, fire alarms sounded and forced Williams to ask, "Does that mean I'm done with press?" to which laughter ensued. But the incident wasn't a laughing matter as the Wimbledon grounds had to be evacuated when fire broke out at 9:30 PM. Around 3,000 people including players, the press, and the fans, were forced to vacate the All England Club. A Wimbledon spokesperson confirmed later on that there was no foul play involved and the fire was caused by an electrical problem.

Hours before the incident, Williams was on centre court overpowering the big-serving Babos. Despite being a heavy-hitter, the Hungarian couldn't stop the onslaught of her opponent who ended the match with 12 aces and a total of 23 winners.

"I am definitely playing well, which I never say," Williams said as told by the Bleacher Report. "I haven't done well here in the past two years. It makes me feel like, OK, I'll be fine. I have nothing to lose here. I don't have many points to defend here. So it's just like trying to have fun, go through it."

Waiting for her in the next round is Watson who toppled Daniela Hantuchova with a 6-4 6-2 win in just 81 minutes. The 23-year-old kept her composure despite being broken early on in the match. Hantuchova, who has more experience on paper, should have been a threat but Watson was simply more offensive and aggressive that day.

When asked about her next meeting with the top seed of the draw, Watson couldn't deny William's power and reputation as the favorite. "Serena's an amazing athlete and a great champion. She's always the one to watch. She's always the favourite for every tournament she plays," she told the Mirror. "I've never played Serena before and have always said I'd love to but she's obviously a very, very tough opponent. I feel like in matches like that, you've got a lot to gain, so it's a real positive to play her."
