Another report on Tech Crunch said that the Anki Overdrive cars are expected to cost around $150, which is approximately the double of what a regular racing car would cost. But, with Anki, gamers get to invest in an all new gaming experience which will include faster and better performing cars as well as a scoring system to keep the game more engaging.
For the 150 dollar price, users will be able to buy the starter pack, which will include two cars and ten pieces of race track. There are many such packs available which will fall in a differnet price range. Additionally, the company also announced new car models, each of which boasts of a different and unique trait.
Though Anki is primarily a robotics company, they have invested serious efforts in improving their gaming offerings. Recently, Anki hired Joby Otero as its new chief creative officer. Otero was previously associated to Skylanders as its creative director. The company has also hired gaming talent from firms like EA and Activision to strengthen its core team.
