Forbes announced their highest-paid celebrities, and Chinese actor Jackie Chan was named the second highest-paid actor.
China's action star has made it to the Forbes highest-paid celebrities list this year and landed on the 38th spot. According to China Entertainment News, Chan became the second highest-paid actor with $50 million in earnings. He came second to "Iron Man" star Robert Downey Jr. with $80 million, who landed on the eight spot. Chan is also the only Chinese personality who was able to make it to the list this year.

Even if the 61-year-old star has slowly drifted away from his action-packed stunts and has not made any American film in the last five years, it didn't seem to affect his earnings. His Chinese Productions latest work was the film "Dragon Blade," which starred Adrien Brody and John Cusack. It grossed $120 million, and it was reported that Chan made approximately $10 million from the movie.
According to Asia One, Jackie Chan's empire includes a Segway dealership, Chan-branded merchandise, and cinema chains including the Jackie Chan Yaolai International Cinema Multiplex that is planned to expand in 37 theaters.
Forbes estimated Chan's worth to be around $350 million. Along with his other businesses, the actor/businessman is also expected to transform his J.C. Stunt Team into a film service company that will match American studios in China.
Despite his fortune, Jackie Chan is also famous for being frugal. He once showed an interviewer a soap that he had taken from a Macau hotel that he kept in a plastic bag.
"This soap follows me around the world," he said.
Forbes's top two spots were held by boxing champions Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. Floyd had an estimate of $300 million in earnings, and Manny followed with $160 million. Meanwhile, Katy Perry was named the highest-paid singer with a total net of $135 million over the past year.
Meanwhile, Jackie Chan is currently working on an Indo-Chinese action comedy film with a title "Kung Fu Yoga." Reported by India Times, Jackie will be starred along with British-Indian actress Katrina Kaif. Chan's next film, which is set for release in 2016, will be directed by Hong Kong-based filmmaker Stanley Tong.
