This year, China's box office has shown great advantages for the country's movie industry. As a result, the salaries of Chinese actors and actresses have also reached impossibly great heights, according to SINA English.

Among the actors to benefit this boom in the mainland's movie industry is Kung Fu star Wu Jing. He appeared in the franchise "A Time for Consequences," and in recent years, his value has multiplied 10 times, reported Hong Kong media.

Because ticket sales of "A Time for Consequences" reached 500 million yuan in the past year, the show's producers upgraded Wu's fee from one million to 10 million yuan per film, hurling the actor toward the billion-yuan-level salary in Chinese show business.

Actor Wu Xiubo's earnings have also risen from four million to 25 million yuan per film after he appeared in "Finding Mr. Right" with actress Tang Wei.

The salary of Hong Kong-based Tony Leung, who won at the Cannes Film Festival for his role in "In the Mood for Love," has also increased from 30 million to 45 million yuan.

Now in the movie industry's "more expensive list" are Hong Kong actors Nick Cheung and Francis Ng. Cheung's pay has quadrupled in two years after "The Man from Macau," which raked in nearly one illion yuan at the box office.

While his salary has risen from 12 million to 20 million yuan, Cheung's agent said that increasing the standard means less movies, but guaranteeing quality.

This rise in salary was also seen with China's female actresses earlier this year, according to the Shanghaiist. On January 2015, a list of salaries of China's leading female celebrities was released, revealing high paychecks for actresses.

According to iFeng.com, Hong Kong actress Maggie Cheung, 50, gets around 20 million yuan per film, covering the no. 1 spot in female movie stars.

Zhang Ziyi is second in Chinese movie actresses, with a paycheck that grew from 12 million to 15 million yuan. Zhao Wei and Zhou Xun tied at third place. Both are charged between 11 million to 15 million yuan per film.

In TV, Sun Li is the highest earner. She brings in around 870,000 yuan per episode. Yao Di ranks second at 840,000 yuan per episode, while Cecilia Cheung is the third top earner in TV with 800,000 yuan per episode.

Fan Bingbing, who topped the Forbes China Celebrity 100 List in 2014, rakes in 30 million yuan for TV appearances.
