The "Guardians of the Galaxy" star referred to Spears as "one big, big celebrity" when they met and worked in Hollywood; she also described the singer as "humble".
Saldana mentioned how her 32-year-old costar always gives off energy when it comes to her music. "I do believe that people and children gravitate to good energy, and she's definitely an abundance of that."
Their 2002 coming-of-age film was centered on the reconciliation of best friends who were on their road trip after graduating from high school. It grossed $61.1 million at the international box office despite garnering numerous negative reviews.
The subject on the former Mouseketeer's auto-tune controversy had been brought up by a caller who asked Saldana about her thoughts on the absence of auto-tune in the leaked version of "Alien".
The actress immediately called it "mean" and stated, "I'm pretty sure that 80 per cent of our musical artists would be mortified if they were caught singing without auto-tune."
Saldana also believed that she could name many celebrities today who became famous because they hated on Britney and "because it was cool at one time to really just diss her. And Britney never did that."
Saldana plays the role of Gamora, a green-skinned superhero in Guardians of the Galaxy, which is now playing in theaters worldwide. Her ex-beau Bradley Cooper, Christ Pratt, Vin Diesel, and Dave Bautista also star in this space adventure by Marvel Studios.
Saldana and her Italian husband Marco Perego are reportedly expecting twins.
Meanwhile, the pop diva's Britney: Piece of Me concert will carry on this August 15 at Las Vegas' PH Live Auditorium. Spears is expected to rake in $30 million for this show that will feature 21 songs, a four-member band, and 14 backup dancers.
