David and Victoria Beckham have just celebrated their 16^th wedding anniversary. With famous couples calling it quits left and right, the Beckhams are going strong and are keeping the torch alive for successful celebrity unions.

On the 4^th of July, while Americans were celebrating their independence, David and Victoria Beckham were marking the 16^th year since their wedding. David took to Instagram to post a touching message to his wife.

"16 years ago today was our special day... 16 years on we have our beautiful children... Thank you for giving me our amazing little ones .... Happy anniversary ❤," he said. The caption accompanied a photo of the couple with both of them looking towards the camera. David was all smiles but Victoria could only muster a happy look that is at least closer to a smile than her usual sultry pout.

David was of course referring to the four Beckham children when he mentioned their "amazing little ones." The couple have been blessed with four kids since their union. They now have Brooklyn, 16, Romeo, 12, Cruz, 10 and Harper Seven,3.

Victoria also took to social media to commemorate the occasion. She gathered the whole brood and posted a photo of herself with her very dapper-looking family on Twitter.

The couple have stayed together despite having to move several times due to David's professional career. They married while he was playing for Manchester United in England. He relocated his family to Madrid, Spain when he signed for Real Madrid CF in 2003. By the time they left Madrid for a stint in the United States with Los Angeles Galaxy, they already had three little boys. Their daughter Harper was born while David was playing for Los Angeles Galaxy but he also did short stints with AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain before finally hanging up his boots in 2013.

Victoria has long since retired from being a pop star but built her own career apart from co-parenting with David. The former Spice Girl has become a well-respected member of the fashion industry both as a designer and a sought-after endorser. She has also rubbed off her love of fashion to her husband and her children who have appeared in numerous ad campaigns and have dipped their toes into fashion collaborations.

The couple's eldest son Brooklyn also paid tribute to his parents' milestone. He decided to post a throwback photo from the couple's wedding day. He had already been born at this point and he shared a photo of the happy couple with himself as a little baby being carried by his dad. "Happy anniversary. Love u," he said.
