It's the second most anticipated match on Centre Court, next to the battle of the Williams sisters. It may be less dramatic - no familial ties, no "grand slam" goals - but if you're up against the tallest and oldest player in the tournament, expect bombs to explode on the service line. This is Andy Murray's fate as he starts his second week at Wimbledon. He will be facing Ivo Karlovic, the 6"11 Croatian who wears a size 16 shoe and is known to drop nuclears on the T.

Karlovic is no household name but he is the first player in history to serve more than 40 aces in three matches - 41 of those were against 13th seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the third round - totaling 136 for the tournament and rounding up half of the year so far with 619. Just last month in Halle, he served 45 aces against Tomas Berdych and set a new ATP record. It may not be long before he can break the all-time record held by Goran Ivanisevic.

How does he do it? He hits fifteen to twenty serves a day now that it comes naturally to him but his journey came with a bit of struggle. "After the war in the ex-Yugoslavia, there was not a system for tennis," Karlovic recalled his younger days as reported by the Mirror. "I would go on court in the evening, because it was free. And as I had no-one to hit with, I served. Hundreds of times."

This led him to be the serve-and-volleyer that he is today and if Karlovic continues to fire his weapon minus the foot-faults that once sparked a controversy, he may just give Murray a little trouble. After all, he was a quarterfinalist in 2009 and after his win against a top-seed likeTsonga, he could come in with the confidence to play better than his previous meetings with the Scot.

Stats show, however, that Murray could be too much for him. The 28-year-old is the best returner in the game and has won all their previous encounters. If he can anticipate Karlovic's service direction, he may just stop the Croat from completely annihilating him. "It's mainly just the fact that he can hit so many of the angles on the court," Murray told BBC. "You can't just pat the return back into play, you need to try to do something with it, so it is tough."
