On July 12th, the Spring Festival Gala team held the news conference, which indicates that the work for the Spring Festival Gala has started. As the news conference was over, the chief director Xiaogang Feng and the assistant director, Benshan Zhao and Guoli Zhang, Baogang Zhao, Heping Zhang rushed to the third floor conference room at the Media Center to have their first meeting without taking a break.

The schedule for that day was busy with news conference ( 3 pm-4pm), interviews with journalists (4 pm-5 pm), and discussion of the project with associated people from the China Central Television  Station, including the station director Zhanfan Hu, assistant director En Hu, and the project manager of variety show station (started 5 pm).

It was surprised to the journalist from HuaXi City News that these powerful men had rice bento when they worked. Around six o'clock in the afternoon, the waiters and waitress put all the bento in the food car, and delivered them to the conference room, which were the Beijing home-made style dishes. Benshan Zhao is the regular guest for the Spring Festival Gala, and is supposed to get used to the rice bento. However, other "big shot" may expect something else rather than the rice bento. What do they think about this? According to a employees of the restaurant, "they are very satisfied, and enjoy the food very much. We have not heard any complaints."

The topic of the discussion is mainly about these issues, such as the framework of the 2014 Spring Festival Gala, how to be creative in various approaches, etc. The journalist from HuaXi News made a call to Guoli Zhang, whose wife is also from Si Chuan Province, aiming at interviewing with him about the details of the meeting. For example, the public would like to know whether You Guo and Qi Shu would attend the Spring Festival Gala. From six o'clock to ten o'clock, the journalist kept either calling or sending message to Guoli Zhang. He replied the journalist at about eleven o' clock saying that he was very thankful for the attention, yet would not offer any more details. He also said that the Gala is a very important project and all of them would make their endeavor for it.
